Come and join international textile artist, Sandra Meech, for a week of creative composition in breathtaking Southern Burgundy. Throughout the week feel inspired as you gather images, sketches, collage compositions and designs that can be woven into a hand bound sketchbook full of visual recollections. Sketchbooks play an important role in creative journeys; a private place for consolidating ideas, thoughts and observations that could eventually inspire a new piece or series of work.  

Whether exploring surface techniques with painted and stamped paper, black and white and colour copies of photos, mixed media or wire work, there is a strong focus on design and composition. The local colours, textures and landscape surrounding your venue, Les Cerisiers, will provide added colour to this inspired and creative week.  This event will suit beginners and established artists alike.

Sandra Meech is an international textile artist, author and teacher based in the UK. Much of her own personal work is based on image transfer in art quilts with series developed from Arctic inspiration, urban city life and issues that relate to global warming.  Her newest book Connecting Design to Stitch will be available in August 2012.
The event takes place in our beautifully renovated barn and accommodation is either at the house on site or just a stones throw from the venue. All meals are taken at the main house. Food is home grown, home made or locally sourced and we offer a local wine tasting on your first evening. As our house guests we would like you to get the most from your stay. The atmosphere is friendly and informal and the number of participants is kept to 10 to ensure you receive the individual attention you desire.

All costs are per person. Non-stitching partners are welcomed and full board is offered at £300. Additional nights beyond the event can also be arranged. We are happy to arrange transfers from Macon Loche TGV station or from Macon Ville station although we strongly recommend arriving by car.

If for any reason Sandra Meech is unable to offer tuition on any part or all of any course, an appropriate tutor may be substituted at our discretion. If the course is cancelled, full or pro rata refunds will be made. No further liability will be accepted.
